FCC Units
Benefits of a TRACERCO Diagnostics™ FCC Study
- Identify causes of excess catalyst loss
- Measure Riser flow distribution
- Evaluate the acceleration of catalyst in the lift zone
- Detect catalyst levels
- Measure catalyst and steam distribution in the stripper
- Characterize catalyst flow in spent or regenerated catalyst standpipes
The Fluidized Catalytic Cracking Unit (FCCU) is the economic heart of today's refinery. Small increases in yield can bring significant gains in productivity and revenues. TRACERCO Diagnostics™ FCC Unit studies have diagnosed operating problems and helped improve the performance of all major components of FCC units. Each project is customized to provide the information needed to optimize or troubleshoot a specific process. Tracerco's experience involves numerous studies performed on FCC units worldwide allowing a better understanding of the integrated processing components of today's FCC Unit. A TRACERCO Diagnostics™ FCC Unit study utilizes both Scanning and Tracer technologies to gather information about the performance of the Riser, Reactor, Stripper, Regenerator, and Standpipes.
Because of the complexity of an FCC Unit and the varying demands of the refining market, plans to upgrade FCC Unit performance are continuous. Frequent "benchmark" tests are performed in order to document the "before and after" affects of a particular design modification or a change in operating strategy.
