Flare Systems
Flare
gas flow measurement is a critical requirement in chemical plants and
refineries. Loss of process material to the flare can cost a refinery
or chemical plant millions of dollars each year in profits and emits additional
greenhouse gases into the environment. Many devices exist to measure flare
gas flow; some are simple and others complex; some are easy to operate,
while others need regular attention. Each design has its own degree of
accuracy, which is usually associated with cost. Today’s flare systems
must also minimize smoke, odor, noise, light and burning liquid...
Tracerco offers a wide array of tracer flow rate, pipe scanning
and measurement of
moisture under insulation
that is applied to flare gas systems routinely. These are used as fast,
accurate, and cost effective methods to determine flow of gas, water,
and organic materials, build-up of sludge and fouling materials in piping
and the measurement of moisture under insulation that can lead to pipeline
corrosion. A new on-site gas meter proving technology
has been developed and demonstrated by Tracerco on a commercial scale
pipeline metering facility based on the tracer pulse velocity method,
which can accurately determine instantaneous gas flow velocities to prove
the accuracy of gas flow meters in various applications; such as gas transmission
pipelines and refinery flare lines.
Tracerco is licensed by state and federal regulatory authorities to possess, transport, use, and dispose of tracer material. Your company does not need a license for us to perform work at your plant. You do not have to notify any regulatory bodies that you are performing a test. We are responsible for the disposal of the tracers and we will ask questions before the job to ensure we can do it safely. Like radiographers, we will barricade an area around the injection point and there is no hazard to operators working around the equipment.
