TRU-SCAN® Reactor

A TRU-SCAN® can produce a density profile of the Reactor’s internals, including distributors, beds and collectors. In most cases, due to thick Reactor walls and dense catalyst beds, only distributor placement and catalyst bed position is attainable. However, in some lower pressure and smaller diameter Reactors, catalyst bed density definition can be measured.

When sufficient signal transmission through the catalyst bed is possible, interpretation of fouling and crushed catalyst can be made. Liquid distribution can also be made if the Reactor is Tru-Grid™ Scanned like a packed distillation tower. This will confirm all of the distributor and bed definition elevations.
