Tracerco's Nigerian partner receives first major contract

Tracerco, part of Johnson Matthey Plc has announced that its Nigerian Partner, Aftrac Ltd. of Port Harcourt has been awarded the contract to provide Tracerco's waterflood tracer technology to Elf Petroleum Nigeria. The work will involve tracer injection and sample analysis for Elf's Ofon Field, located offshore Nigeria.

Tracerco's West Africa Business Development Manager Ray Lees "Elf Nigeria made it very clear that local content and the use of Nigerian engineers was one of the major factors in determining this award". Over the past two years, Aftrac and Tracerco have invested in new facilities in Nigeria and the training of Nigerian engineers in the UK. "We currently have two Nigerian engineers in the UK on a six month training secondment to give them vital hands on experience with Tracerco technologies".
