Tracerco clinches major contract
Tracerco, part of Johnson Matthey Plc, has received its
first order for the Agip KCO Kashagan project in Kazakhstan.
The order, placed by Italian fabrication company Rosetti,
based in Ravenna, is to supply its advanced separator level
control instrument to the offshore complex D test separator
in the northeast Caspian Sea. It is designed for high pressure
and high hydrogen sulphide duty. Discovered in 2000 and
due onstream in 2008, the Kashagan field is one of the world’s
largest with reserves of around 40 billion barrels.
The TRACERCO Profiler™, an award-winning instrument,
uses advanced measurement technology to accurately determine
and control the contents of oil and gas production separators.
It has proved a big hit with oil and gas operators around
the world as it can not only lower operating and maintenance
cots, but can also increase production rates and decrease
environmental risks. Since the launch of the Profiler in
1999, over 100 units have been sold worldwide.
