Every day, our process diagnostics services are used in industrial sites to keep process systems on-line, diagnose processing problems or optimize operational parameters allowing customers to maximize product output at minimum cost. The power of the technology is in its ability to "see through" vessel walls allowing us to determine what is happening inside a particular process system without the need to shut down, essentially providing insight onsite. Our most common applications include mass transfer diagnostics, pipe system blockage detection, liquid and solids level measurement, vacuum system leak detection, heat exchanger leak testing, flow rate measurement as well as fluid, solid, and vapour distribution studies.
In the case of mass transfer, many towers are opened under the suspicion of internal damage only to discover there is none! Consider heat exchangers. Units are shutdown, heat exchangers are isolated and hydrotested, and no leaks are found. Cost/benefit analysis has shown time and time again the value of Tracerco services when compared to customer losses due to poor product quality, production loss, production re-work or an unplanned "forced" shutdown due to a particular process plant problem. Using Tracerco to diagnose a problem allows maintenance and production planners to focus on the specific problem, acquire required materials, and prepare necessary labour before the system is shutdown.

The offshore production of oil and gas involves both the extraction of crude hydrocarbon material from the ground and then the separation of the oil and gas from the water, sand and other solid materials that come up during extraction. The company provides a range of scanning and tracer technologies at both the extraction and separation stages enabling real time characterization of conditions in the process in much the same way as analogous techniques (e.g. CT scan, angiogram) are used in the medical world.
The separation of oil and gas from its by-products, sand and water, is at the heart of all hydrocarbon production facilities.
