| Training for Radiation Protection Supervisors (RPSs)
Tracerco Radiation Protection Services specialise in providing
Radiation Protection advice and training to industry. Our
experience covers Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials
(NORM / LSA), nucleonic equipment, radiography operations,
the use of radioisotopes for process diagnostics, radiation
monitors, laboratory use of radioisotopes etc.
Each course includes training modules on:-
- the properties of radiation;
- the biological effects of radiation;
- radiation protection practices;
- risk assessment;
- radiation monitor selection;
- Radioactive Substances Act 1993 and exemption orders;
- the Ionising Radiation Regulations 1999;
- an introduction to the transportation of radioactive
materials;
- safe working practice with NORM;
- safety aspects of nucleonic instrumentation;
- radiography
- unsealed sources of ionising radiation
Tracerco provide both 2-day refresher as well as 3-day
RPS training courses based on the Health & Safety Executives'
requirements for RPS competency. The courses emphasise the
practical aspects of radiation protection under the IRR
1999 as well as environmental compliance with the Radioactive
Substances Act 1993.

your site to an agreed specification.
