Tagging with TRACERCO™ Taggants
Fuels derived from renewable sources, such
as biodiesel and bioethanol are becoming an important part
of the energy matrix in most countries, especially with
the current high price of crude oil. That is why Tracerco
has developed a unique range of TRACERCO™
Taggants specifically for use in biofuels. The TRACERCO™
F-Tag series developed for biodiesel and bioethanol are
fully bespoke, organic molecules that fully mimic the behaviour
of the fluid which is tagged, allowing its presence to be
determined in petroleum based fuels (gasoline or diesel)
down to a level of below +/-2%.
Analysis of the TRACERCO™ F-Tags within the
fuels can be carried out eit her
in a laboratory , using existing facilities, or in the field
using fully customer bespoke analytical equipment.
TRACERCO™ F-Tag can be utilised by governments
or fuel companies as part of wider anti-adulteration, quality
assurance or brand protection programmes, thus allowing
with confidence biodiesel and bioethanol to enter into the
consumer fuels markets.
