The new laboratory is the second in the Australasian region joining an existing facility in Malaysia. It will enable Tracerco to provide a faster service for its growing customer base in Australia, allowing oil companies to optimise well strategies more efficiently.
Mr Ken Pearson, Managing Director for the Australasian region commented:
“We have seen steady growth in the region for a few years especially with the development of unconventional exploration. Tracerco always strive to give excellence across the service range, and in opening a new laboratory here in Perth, we have effectively brought the analysis to the customer. This means giving them the crucial data they need to plan their production strategies more efficiently than ever before saving time and money. Australia is an area of growing strategic importance for Tracerco so we want to make our service the most accessible and efficient it can be to our customer base here.”
The new lab will be fully equipped to handle analysis from across the spectrum of applications, from near wellbore to interwell and in unconventional oil and gas applications. Tracerco is the only reservoir tracing company that can provide tracer technology across this spectrum.
Charles Czajkowski, Global Business Manager for Reservoir Tracing Services at Tracerco, said:
“We pride ourselves on our understanding of the market and the needs of our customers, who are currently facing rising restrictions and expensive export procedures resulting in slow turnaround times or in some cases making tracer analysis prohibitive. Our new lab in Australia will allow samples to be analysed in country for the first time, removing the complications associated with exporting samples.
“The new lab will allow us to take this instant analysis directly to our customers and will be capable of handling up to 100 samples a day, in some cases reducing the turn-around times for results from weeks to hours.”
Tracerco is committed to growing its reservoir business having first developed specialised tracers for oil and gas 30 years ago. With continued refinement over this period from its dedicated research and development team of over 150 scientists, Tracerco’s cutting edge tracers are recognised by oil companies worldwide as an essential element of their reservoir surveillance toolkit. The technologies can be deployed without interruption to production and allow operators to gain a better understanding of reservoir profiles.
Tracerco’s technology is used extensively by operators in oil and gas reservoirs to increase their accuracy in a range of well designs and field developments. This year has seen record growth of the company’s reservoir business as oil companies pursue ever more ambitious improved oil recovery programmes.
