Stage Production Logging by Surface Sampling

Graph showing stage production

A Tracer Production Log™ (TPL) simultaneously measures oil, gas and water production from each stage through surface sampling and no well intervention, providing repeatable measurements over an extended period of time.

It is indispensable where traditional Production Logging Tools (PLTs) cannot access a well.

Specific chemical tracers are added during normal fracturing operations. A unique tracer is added to each stage tagging the injected water and the oil or gas it encounters.

Tracer concentration in samples collected allows individual stage production to be determined. Daily and cumulative tracer production provides day to day trends as well as accumulated stage production over time.

Information generated is used to correlate stage production with the effectiveness of a particular drilling, completion or stimulation strategy as well as reservoir rock properties in order that improvements are made to future well developments to maximise recovery at the lowest possible cost.

Through our global network, we offer local reservoir tracer project management to meet your reservoir flow measurement needs wherever you are in the world.
